I wouldn't do what you are doing for ANY money but, you are as necessary as First Responders- which you really are. Thanks for doing what you do.

Damn Cyrus, this isn't what I signed up for. I'm looking for an argument. Sigh!

It's so hard isn't it? I would love the argument too. But I know his good knowledge is on the record. It will matter

Thank you for sticking to your principles and staying in the conversation. Your input is valuable and your values are the higher ground than political games. There are middle dems and reps who are not being served in todays extreme politics.

Your comments are well taken Cyrus. However, you could be more effective if cut your message by half.

Hi Tim! Guilty as charged—I’ve definitely been waxing a little long lately. It’s always a challenge knowing what to cut and what to keep, especially when trying to cover nuance in a noisy world. I really appreciate the feedback, and I’m going to aim for tighter, more focused posts going forward.

Thanks again—not just for the note, but for your years of service and perspective. Always glad to hear from someone who’s walked the halls and knows how the place works.

While not indefinitive or unclear about his position, Cyrus is struggling to hit the mark. He's making the same arguments several times in this missive. Still I'd say he's hitting his stride. Sometimes repetition helps us cement our positions. I thank both of you for your service. Oregon is special as are its legislators.

Betty, Thank you for the thoughtful comment—and for the grace in your words. You’re right: I’ve been circling the same points a bit lately. I’m working on tightening up my writing so it stays sharp without losing the depth I’m aiming for. That said, I do agree—sometimes repetition is part of the process, especially when trying to make space for a more nuanced conversation.

I agree with your standpoint but the democrats are pushing unconstitutional measures down our throats with bought and paid for judges with no end in sight. I hope Oregonians open their eyes and see the damage that is being created in this state. Vying to be California #2 won’t work for most Oregonians.

I hear you—and I share your frustration. I’m doing my best to push back where I can and offer a better path forward for Oregon. Appreciate you speaking up and staying engaged.

Thanks for what you do! What we really need is Leadership in Oregon, most of the 3,400 bills are trying to cure the lack of leadership. Do we really need bills to tell agencies what they should do and Study problems. Alan DeBoer former Senator

While it’s frustrating the democratic leadership keeps wasting taxpayers money in court on gun restrictions that are unconstitutional. So far the Kotek administration has blown a mere $5 million in court for BM 114 and have committed another $25 million to fight our president which appears treasonous. Oregon or for that matter the left coast didn’t get the message that President Trump was also the popular president who was elected and most likely with the help of more grounded democrats.

Oregon wants to continue to push a green agenda such as EV’s that have been dying a quick death well before Trump was even elected. All that incentive money is gone and hydrogen has already started as a true replacement for the ev, which is a renewable resource.

Kotek wants to create a state to harbor sex offenders and illegal aliens and expects us to pay for this with tax payer dollars. That seems a bit crazy and not safe for the citizens of Oregon.

Maybe those who control Salem might want to take a step back and start figuring out this is a bad path we’re are on.

After all California governor Newsome is all of a sudden becoming a conservative. He might be scared of the consequences that that coming.

I was just going to write something. When Joshua crossed over the Jordon with the people..to take procession. God told them they couldn't keep the spoils of winning.

What your heading to...how will we rule? We are about to see that happen. I know we can't see how exactly. But I know it's coming up. God is crystal clear about it.

Will we remember to honor and respect people? The information from many voices makes good policy. Not winning everything, which is where Democrats killed themselves. But leading with wisdom into policy that everyone can live with.

I really like what your doing and communicating. I find it takes so much effort to gain understanding. It's important those ideas are on the record. It's important that opposition hear to gain understanding. We don't know who may eventually defect in the turnaround. Some likely will. Probably those who heard you and couldn't agree without party agreement. But knew it was important.

So keep right at it. We can only go forward

Thank you for such a thoughtful and encouraging message. You’re absolutely right—real leadership isn’t about domination, it’s about wisdom, respect, and bringing people along. I’m grateful you’re paying attention and rooting for a better way forward.
